Waking up at 4:30 in the morning is a serious crime in my book, especially because I'm honestly not a morning person. I'm still working on it as I would prefer to be an early riser but 4:30 in the morning is pushing it. However, this morning it's acceptable. It's a little weird to type this but, my boyfriend and I are traveling to Seattle for a wedding and visiting some of my friends. I never imaged myself as visiting Seattle because I've lived there for the past twenty years. With that said, this should be interesting.
It was a great start to the morning but to be honest, I wasn't quite awake yet for a very fidgety and vocally loud chatter box Uber driver. On the positive side, he safely got us to the airport on time and kindly assisted us with our bags. We got our boarding passes and headed for the security line. Sadly, security kept my favorite coconut lotion. It's my fault for not considering the bottle size when packing. Lesson learned.
By the time we got through security, our plane was boarding. Oh, did I forget to mention I forgot my book and ear plugs? Fail on my part. I was very thankful the early flight was quiet and peaceful throughout the cabin. The gentlemen sitting to my right was stone cold asleep with his mouth open, and my boyfriend was intensely watching Star Wars on his laptop. With a complimentary Starbucks coffee and my iPhone notepad, the rest of the journey to Seattle was smooth sailing.
Yep. Smooth sailing it was indeed. After we grabbed our bags, exited the plane, hopped in an Uber, we headed towards one of my best friends houses in Everett, WA. Once we arrived, my boyfriend could hardly keep his eyes open, so he took a nap while the girls and I set out for a three-mile hike. It was a perfect afternoon and surprisingly it was pretty warm out. A beautiful day to be outside and enjoy some good girl time.
The girl time continued once we got back to my friend's house. We mixed up some refreshing cocktails, put together meat, cheese, and cracker platter and cut up some juicy strawberries. We took our mini day party outside on the patio where the temperature was absolutely perfect. My boyfriend finally joined us after a much-needed nap, and my friend's husband arrived home from work. We ate, we drank, and we talked. After some time had passed, my boyfriend and I decided to head to our hotel. It was a long day, and I couldn't wait to lay down, but the exciting part was tomorrow my other friend was getting married. Who doesn't love a wedding? I certainly do, and I can't wait to celebrate with the bride and groom and some high school girlfriends. Cheers to tomorrow!
